Epicondylitis - Inflammation of the tendon, redness, swelling (4-6 weeks)
Epicondylitis - Chronic degeneration of the tendon (6 weeks)
Wrist Tendonitis typically occurs int he leading hand (left hand for a right handed player).
Most common mechanism: Hitting an object other than the ball at impact.
Meniscus injuries are common with knee pivoting and rotation, and can happen with the golf swing. The Menisci act mostly as shock absorbers for the knee. They deteriorate ove time, especially with arthritis. Symptoms of a meniscus tear are pain, clicking/popping, locking, and giving away of the knee.
Golf shoulder injuries typically fall into 3 basic types: Overuse Injuries, Traumatic Injuries, and Joint degeneration. Golfers experience overuse injuries more often than traumatic injuries because they rely more heavily on their rotator cuff muscles.
Back pain is due to subluxation or herniated disc, or retrolisthesis, sprain strain.
